Yearning for the exhilaration of sliding down a water slide at full speed while splashing to a halt? Whether it’s a tandem tube slide, doughnut group slide, or simply zipping down solo at full speed, water slides bring out the inner child in you, regardless of your age.
Malaysia is teeming with high-quality water theme parks boasting different rides for all age groups. While upholding high safety protocols, customer service has steeply improved, alongside a delicious variety of good food too!
Check out this list of the 12 best waterparks in Malaysia that will catapult your fun factor to new heights in 2025!
1. Sunway Lagoon

Heralded as the number one theme park in Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon features more than 80 attractions and rides encompassing 6 adventure zones. Spanning across 88 acres of sheer fun, Sunway Lagoon comprises the Water Park, Amusement Park, Sunway Lost Lagoon, Wildlife Park, Scream Park, and X Park.

The Vuvuzela is a must-sit ride giving you gloating rights to conquering the World’s Largest Vortex ride! You’ll need to ascend 11 stories high to a tower that plunges into rapids with tight twists and turns.
A deep plunge mid-way provides the ultimate cliffhanger, with your heart high up while you physically swirl into a tumultuous vortex swinging around gushing water. The ride ends with a dash into calm waters and a sense you’ve survived!
The wait times are published and can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes. However, the world’s highest, largest, and most sensational ride deserves all the attention!
The African Pythons water slide is not to be missed. Race down with a friend on a twin-sharing tube in an open slide, half-open slide, or fully closed slide.

Speed demons can ravel in the “flying carpet”, zooming down head first in the Congo Challenge. Pick up speed with each dip and experience the rush as the water breaks motion. It seems dare devilish from afar, but looking at the 7-year-old and senior citizens conquer the ride with ease, you get a rush of confidence in doing it!
You can buy the cheapest Sunway Lagoon Water Park Ticket Price via Klook at RM155 for Adults with MyKad and RM130 for children with MyKad. The price for non-Malaysians is RM192 for adults and RM162 for children.
Sunway Lagoon debunks stereotypes that theme park food is not palatable with a wide selection of gourmet offerings. This includes mamak delicacies, Chinese food, western, Korean, and vegetarian options too! The price of the food is not exorbitant and matches the pricing of food in Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall.
(Top: Meet the llamas, alpacas, parrots and goats as you walk to Sunway Lagoon's wet park. Bottom: There are many locker areas available throughout the Lagoon to facilitate storage. )
Considering that one day is not enough to cover all 6 parks, let alone cover all the rides you’ll want to sit on, you’ll get the best value for money (as a Malaysian) by purchasing the Sunway Lagoon’s annual pass.
For as low as RM288 for renewals and RM498 for new sign-ups, you’ll get unlimited access to Sunway Lagoon Theme Park for the next 12 months.

2. Splash Mania Waterpark Gamuda Cove
With 39 water slides under its belt (24 water slides and 15 key attractions), Splash Mania Waterpark can’t rival Sunway Lagoon in terms of numbers.
However, this tiny cove of fun is far from modest, with signature rides offering unique thrills and spills ideal for group rides. And their solo rides leave inedible impressions with lasting memories.
Splash Mania also offers Sunway Lagoon’s equivalent of the flying carpet ride with a twist. Here, the tubes are mostly concealed, unlike the former which is fully open air.
Curl and Swirl is another novel ride in a bowl whereby you can group-float down a water slide with VR headsets. With surreal images, rocking motion, and wet splashes as you slide down, the virtual reality gear takes you on an underwater quest navigating through a shipwreck.
Omba King Cove is a huge ocean pool with crested waves where you can laze on a raft or float with the currents. The deejay’s energetic choice of music and choreographic synchronization of the waves make the ‘sea shore’ very crowded and a popular choice.
Shaka Waka, an enclosed tube slide with dramatic visual effects and accompanying sound effects offers a uniquely thrilling experience.
Finally Spills and Thrills is one ride that closely resembles Vuvuzela, giving it a run for its money. This family raft swirls its guests in a curved bowl, while you navigate a narrow space before plunging into open waters.
At the time of writing, this waterpark in Selangor offers discounted ticket prices at RM125 per adult (13 – 59 years old) and RM95 for children (3 – 12 years old) and senior citizens.

Just like Sunway Lagoon, Escape Park Penang’s park tickets give you access to all 3 parks.
This includes Adventure Play, Water Play, and Gravity Play, and park tickets are not sold separately.
Aptly named The Longest, experience the world's longest water slide measuring a whopping 1.1 kilometers long.
This majestic slide traverses through a scenic view of lush rainforests as you whiz through within 4 minutes. This 3,645-foot-long slide garnered the longest water slide title in the world, usurping the previous record-holder at Action Theme Park in New Jersey, USA, which measures 1,970 feet long. This ride can be sat in a single or twin tube.
Another highlight here is the Tubby Racer. Consisting of several tubes linked to one another, race down full speed on a dry surface and enjoy the bumps and thuds of this unique attraction.
You can also go rock climbing at the Gecko Tower, or conquer your fear of heights by walking along the tree tops at Monkey Business.
With different kinds of activities on land and in the water to draw minds away from the monotony of digital gadgets, Escape Penang is one of the best theme parks in Malaysia.
Buy tickets online at least a day before to enjoy up to 20% off walk-in rates.

The Bouncer is one of them witnessing a staff jumping off a 10-foot high (approximate) platform onto an inflatable balloon that will catapult you into the open water.
Before embarking on your chosen adventure, the safety guards ensure you meet the age group requirement.
The Banana Flip reinvents your in-air style where you can execute cartwheels, splits, or any move you fancy midair before plunging into open water.
For something more subdued, the Marina Academy is an inflatable water park that instills water confidence by safely introducing play. Don on a life jacket and race through the outdoor obstacle course comprising of hanging bars as you leap over rivers and air-filled hurdles.

6. Legoland Water Park, Johor Bahru
With more than 20 rides, slides, water games, and shows, the Lego Land Waterpark has enough attractions to sustain excitement levels on a high.
Staying true to its bricks-and-build concept, most rides incorporate elements of Lego blocks be it statues or oversized building blocks.
From the Duplo Splash Safari with floating Duplo blocks, to Build-A-Raft River where you can test theories and hypotheses, the water park induces creativity and problem-solving skills in a playful environment.
Thrilling family rides await in the form of Red Rush and Brick Blaster as you tunnel through splashing water.
Overall, the water park is not very big but enough for young kids to explore. The food is overpriced and taste wise can be improved.
For some reason, we found the dry park more entertaining. This water park in Johor Bahru is dedicated to Lego fans to relive their childhood dreams. Or immersing oneself in Lego-theme water play.

10. iCity Water Park

Waterworld by iCity is a smallish waterpark with only 4 adult rides. The grandest ride in this water park in Kuala Lumpur is the 7-storey Tornado – a group ride of 4 that spirals down a 7-story high funnel. The other thrilling rides at their grounds include the Rainbow Racers, Spiral Slide, and Family Raft.
The Giant Jacuzzi proves to be popular as you soak your stresses away leisurely, alongside the water fountains and water playgrounds for young children.
Given its small size and limited rides, there are no long queues here, and for adults, you could probably cover the entire area within an hour. Just like the other theme parks in Malaysia, each bag is checked to ensure no outside foods & drinks are brought in.
Another pain point that should be addressed is the requirement to use iCity’s app exclusively for all purchases, which is inconvenient. The Management should consider allowing more popular payment options including e-wallets, cash, debit or credit cards, or QR codes.
iCity Water Park ticket prices start from RM40 for adults with MyKad and RM35 for children / senior citizens. Non-Malaysians are charged RM50 and RM45 respectively for adults and children / senior citizens.

11. Bukit Gambang Waterpark
Awarded the coveted title of the Best Waterpark in Malaysia in 2011, Bukit Gambang Waterpark spans across 45 acres of scenic greenery offering a variety of rides and attractions in a picturesque, natural environment.
On the crest of its hunt for superlatives, this waterpark boasts the only wave pool in Malaysia that features eight wave patterns and modes! Set within a secondary jungle, zip down the longest canopy slide, the longest six-lane racer slide, and the longest family raft ride in Malaysia.
On the downside, as one of the older water parks in Pahang, the maintenance, hygiene standards, and the need to invest in newer rides are areas for improvement. Some of the rides are closed for up-keeping, thus limiting the variety of functioning rides.
The park management should offer more amenities such as large umbrellas, more shaded areas, and lounge chairs for guests.
Address: Utama, Bukit Resort City, Jln Bukit Gambang Resort, 26300 Gambang, Pahang

Conclusion
Flaunting an abundance of well-maintained theme parks, Malaysia’s waterparks have all the superlatives to make your park experience memorable.
From Escape Penang, the world’s longest water slide, to Sunway Lagoon, one of the biggest waterparks in the world, there's a water theme park here that will meet your budget and requirements.
Most parks prohibit bringing in external food and drinks into their premise. F&B, after all, is another important revenue stream that allows park players to sustain their business.
The bigger parks are generally better managed with well-maintained facilities and hospitable staff. Thus ensuring your water park experience is mishap-free and filled with spills and thrills that will have you regaling for days after your rides!
