About Escape Penang
Located opposite Entopia Butterfly Park on Jalan Teluk Bahang, Escape Penang is 15 km from the heart of Georgetown. Nestled along the coastal area of Batu Ferringhi, Escape Penang offers numerous wet and dry rides in a natural setting. Unlike Sunway Pyramid Theme Park, Escape Theme Park has novel rides that enables multiple riders at one go! Escape Penang was built on a former 44-acre undeveloped site and is surrounded by verdant greenery. It offers more than 30 exciting activities such as water slides, zip lines, high ropes courses and much more. The emphasis here is on self-directed play, where you're in charge of navigating through challenging tasks. Furthermore, once you start, there's no turning back! Plus, the atmosphere illuminates a festive camaraderie reminiscent of Club Med, where the staffs are energetic and friendly. Even the chicken dance activity seems contagious enough and we couldn't help but join the crowd!
What Do You Wear To Escape Park Penang
In the dry park (where the adventure and gravity-defying games take place) you must wear closed-toe shoes to protect your feet. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for a workout or hike. Because strapping on a harness with tight clothes can cause unnecessary chaffing! In the wet park, get suited in proper swim wear. For ladies, a one-piece swim suit, bikini, or Muslimah swimwear will earn you an entry. Men should equip themselves with board shorts, swim trunks or surf wear. Babies must have their swim diaper on. If you did not bring swimwear, you can buy it at the Escape Penang store or rent it for a nominal fee (see pricing chart below).
Ease of Parking
There is ample parking in the outdoor area of the theme park. You can drop your guest off at the main entrance and then drive down the same road that will lead you to the open air car park.
Experience and Rides
There are more than 30 rides to discover, and here are our top picks:-
Tubby Race
Perched on higher ground, Tubby Race begins with a scenic open-air cable seat ride that traverses over towering trees. It's heartwarming to learn that no trees were cut down to build the ride.
You can experience the Tubby Race alone or in a group of up to 6 riders. For multiple riders, the staff will link several Tubby tires together for awesome family fun!
The first tire is filled with water, and the ride operator even lubricates the base to minimize friction and maximize speed! We expected the ride to be extremely bumpy, but it was smoother than expected! Young children are allowed to sit in the Tubby Race, and the youngest takes the first seat. The adult behind can use their legs to secure the child down.
Monkey Business At The The Rope Course
Monkey Business consists of a high ropes course set at 3 levels for beginners, intermediate to advance. The park attendant recommends newbies to opt for the beginner course. Because here every ounce of your muscles will be used! After the guides secures the harness and provide the pulley system that will be your lifeline during the 40-minute course, your adventure begins! You'll walk on tight ropes, step on wood suspended in mid-air, crawl through a wooden tube, and zipline across the treetops. If a panic attack strikes you mid-way, there will be no ladder to climb back down. This is a course you must finish once you've started!
World’s Longest Zip Coaster
Measuring 1135 meters, swallow your fears and buckle up to enjoy a panoramic view of the park's lush greenery and picturesque surroundings. The 6-minute zipline ride will take you through exhilarating drops, steep climbs, and unsuspecting turns. As another self-directed adventure game, don't forget to jerk the handle of the zipline should you stop mid-journey. And get on track this amazing coaster ride!
World’s Longest Tube Waterslide
The longest tube waterslide at Escape Penang sees two riders sharing one inflatable raft and whizing down 1,111 meters of sheer fun! There is a covered and an open water slide. The covered version accelerates faster, but yet at a pace that won't shell shock newbies.
First and only Ski Slope in Malaysia
Never had the opportunity to ski abroad? Escape Penang offers the first dry ski slope where you can try skiing and snowboarding in a safe environment. The 302 meter long ski slope consists of two sections. The section for beginners has mostly straight stretches and one simple curve, while the section for experienced skiers has a steeper incline with more daring descents.
Dead Sea Pool
For a calmer activity, take a dip in the Dead Sea Pool. Introduced in November 2022 this new addition is teeming with mineral-rich water where you can easily float even if you can't swim. Inspired by the famous salt lake in Jordan, this relaxing experience has natural health benefits and is only 4 meters deep.
The Gecko Tower
The Gecko Tower is a multi-façade rock climbing wall with 3 routes designed for beginners, intermediate and professional climbers.
Protruding approximately 50 meters above land, this vertical tower is a test of agility and technique and is high on fun factor too!
Challenge your friend to a duel scaling up the walls and the first to press the buzzer wins. Escape Penang uses an auto belay system. So even if you slip, you will slowly float down to safety.
Food
Escape Penang’s sole restaurateur is A&W. Hence, after playing, you can fuel up on delicious coney dogs, waffles, and root beer float.
