About Superfine KL @ Seventeen Mall

Chef Larry, the founder of Superfine, got his start in the food and beverage industry as a young barista at VCR Galloway, another trendy cafe in KL.
After honing his craft there, he struck out on his own and opened The Lolla Co in AmpWalk. Perhaps the location wasn't ideal, as the community craved a different kind of food. That led to Chef Larry shuttering the business and paving the way for Superfine’s birth in PJ.
To continue the connection of fine food from The Lolla Co, the word “KL” is maintained to the Superfine brand. Although it seems like a misnomer since this cafe is located in PJ.
Fast forward 4 years, Superfine KL finds a stable footing nestled within this safe haven that celebrates its culinary artistry for Australian café food and good coffee.
Ease of Parking
If you’re here for breakfast or brunch, don’t bother parking along the streets, because the morning market and small stores around Seventeen Mall draws in the crowd.
Street parking is limited. But fortunately, Seventeen Mall has plenty of parking spaces on its premises.
So you can drive right into the mall for quick and easy parking. The parking fees are cheap: RM 1 for the first two hours.
Ambiance
Superfine is a colorful pop art cafe that combines contemporary furnishings with an eclectic vibe. Superfine KL is not only a place to eat, but also a place to feel comfortable and relax while enjoying quality drinks and food.
Burst of greenery from well-placed potted plants accentuates the neutral tones of the gray cushions and mahogany fixtures. The phrase “Out of This World,” emblazoned above the food counter, conveys a sense of playfulness. And aptly describes their food in a positive sense!
Low lights that sets the tone for a nice chit chat with privacy makes Superfine KL the perfect place to chill and hangout.
Located on the ground floor, directly across from the AEON MaxValue supermarket, finding this café is easy.
Service
The staff is friendly, attentive and patient with questions about the food. We didn't have to wait long to be served our food.
Superfine KL also offers free drinking water at no additional charge.
Food
Superfine KL’s shape-shifting menu changes based on customer feedback and seasonality. Compared to one year ago, some of their best sellers continue to hog taste buds, and some reshuffling adds sparkle and novelty to their dishes.
One Night in Bangkok is a staple favourite that never fails to delight! This fusion spaghetti packs all the excitement the vibrant city has to offer. The zesty, lemony sauce served with Thai Nam Jim Jaew dipping sauce adds a spicy profile. Succulent and fresh white clams lend texture and taste, alongside lemongrass-infused flavors. This pasta and its sauce are delicious for the last bite!
The Pork Ragu Pasta with wine is well coated in a tomato-based sauce made from scratch. The minced pork adds dimensions to its taste profile while providing texture and bite. We suspect the Pork Ragu Pasta has taken the spot and replaced Pork Carnitas Pasta, and this iteration gets our thumbs up!
The Cajun Fried Shrimp boasts 12 pieces of juicy fat morsels fried in a light batter that’s crispy without weight-down in oil. The shrimp are best devoured with the savory side dips, one in green and the other in a classic, mayonnaise sauce.
The Fennel Salt Fries made with real potatoes are a great appetizer dish.
The straight-cut fries with skin are healthy and tasty and slightly crispy on the outside.
If you love your cheese, Cheesy Truffle Fries are another option. These skin-on straight-cut fries are topped with Italian white truffle oil and sprinkled with aged Pecorino Romano, which adds a smoky and distinct nutty undertone.
The signature Cubano sandwich is another rare discovery and is as authentic as possible. Roasted pork shoulder is brined and marinated for 48 hours and topped with chicken salami, coriander, Gouda cheese, and American mustard on sourdough bread.
The pizzas are also mind-blowingly tasty, thanks to its unique Neopolitan base. Made with flour flown in from Italy, the pizza is easily digestible, ideal for those who are gluten intolerant and it’s not too chewy. The light, crispy, and flavorful crust is far from hard, but tender and soft.
Their pizzas don’t come cheap at RM55 average, but boy are they worth it!
Their coffee is smooth, robust, and aromatic. Prepared by trained and award-winning baristas, Superfine KL’s cuppa is one of the best coffees to kick start your day or cap a nice meal.
Pricing
Compared to other cafes in Petaling Jaya, the prices for food here are a bit higher. The average price for pasta is RM33, as is the Out Of This World sandwich collection. Serving sizes are decent and the quality ingredients means you’ll feel satiated despite sharing.
Be prepared to fork out RM100 for a meal for 2 including drinks.

A lot of science, forethought and artistry go into each dish served at Superfine KL Seventeen Mall. With Chef Larry honing his culinary skills, you can expect more exciting meals churned out from this kitchen.
Its welcoming ambiance and friendly service staff complement the delicious food. The fine quality ingredients and high standards in the kitchen ensure consistently good food.
